Hello Gatecrashers,
In my last update, I noted that it was time to lock in addresses in preparation for the final fulfillment stage of this kickstarter campaign. And, here we go...
We may be socially distant, but you're still close to my heart!
The past year has thrown every obstacle it could at us, but after managing a few unexpected challenges and obstacles, the books have been processed in the fulfillment center and are about to begin the final stages of fulfillment.
Our fulfillment partner, Studio2, has been working on Picking, Packing, and Preparing to ship Lunars:Fangs at the Gate over the past few weeks. Due to reduced staffing configurations and social distance spacing, as well as the different reward configurations and paperwork, and the schedule of courier pick-ups, they're processing in a few waves:
Domestic, US shipments
Canada and Mexico
Non-EU and Non-European international shipments
EU, European, and UK shipments
It took a longer than usual (or planned) for the books to deliver from the printer to their warehouse, and then a bit longer to actually receive it into their inventory. Getting it out the door will also likely take a bit longer than usual, but the process has started, and things are moving! So excited to get this one!
TRACKING INFORMATION
Normally, US backers would start seeing deliveries a week or two after the orders have left the warehouse, but the strain on delivery infrastructure during this pandemic and holiday season had a cascading effect that's just starting to get rectified. That's also affecting tracking updates - but, I'm told, information should catch up as packages move through the system. You may end up receiving your book before your tracking status gets updated, but the good news is that, eventually, everything should be delivered and confirmed.
As the orders ship, you will (*should*) get an e-mail with Tracking Information.
Once the orders ship, the fulfillment team is able to take the Tracking information and load it into the BackerKit Pledge Manager system. Your tracking information may take 2-5 days to update at any given time, so you may see "Pre-Shipment" as it filters out to the various shipping agencies, but it should update as it travels and eventually delivers to you.
Again: You'll have your tracking numbers sent via the e-mail provided to Backerkit, and shortly thereafter, you will also be able to access your Tracking number in Backerkit by reviewing your Order Confirmation.
Your BackerKit Confirmation page has:
1 - Your Reward Tier
2 - Your BackerKit e-mail (and the link between the Community Page and your Confirmation Page)
3 - the TRACKING NUMBER for your shipment (once it's been uploaded)
4 - Your confirmed shipping address
5 - A link to your digital redemption codes
6 - Your list of rewards

TRACKING YOUR ORDERS
As noted in this update, it may take up to 5 days for Tracking Information to update. That said, tracking your packages - especially for international orders - can provide great assistance in solving minor issues before they become major issues.
International Shipping costs continue to climb - that's an understatement - and every sign points to additional costs coming in 2021, so it's pretty important that we avoid any re-ships or additional shipping charges as much as possible. And that's where your help can really come in handy.
I've dealt with several situations where shipments were marked as "delivered" but the backer hadn't checked the tracking information for months, unaware that the package had been sitting at a neighbor's house or stuck in a local postal facility.
So, please, check your tracking number over the next few weeks. If you haven't received your package by, let's say February 12, review the tracking number to see where the issue might be.
Again, it may take up to 5 days for any status updates to appear, and depending on the country and carrier, each package may enjoy a different transit time. But if we're three weeks into February, let's see if we can sort out any delivery issues while everything's still fresh.
For example, if Package status indicates it was delivered but you never received it
Double-check your Backerkit CONFIRMATION PAGE (as detailed above) that the correct address was provided, and maybe check with your neighbors to make sure it wasn’t accidentally left there. If that doesn’t turn up anything, contact the carrier or your local post office to report the package as not received and please contact me using the Contact Creator button on kickstarter to let me know you didn’t get your order.
I've seen so many orders sitting in a local post office for 8 weeks while the recipient was left unaware that it was waiting. Additionally, other backers have solved issues almost immediately with a quick call to FedEx and providing their tracking number.
It's a HUGE help to me and Onyx Path if we can solve any wayward shipment or stuck orders in February, rather than waiting until the spring when shipping systems finally give up delivery attempts and return the items to our fulfillment partner (at an extra cost to Onyx Path). Let's avoid paying for multiple return shipments if we can! Thanks for your help in advance.

2020 Year End Update

Hello Gatecrashers!
It's not quite the end of the month, but I wanted to get this month end / year end update out before everyone got extra busy or distracted over the year end holidays, breaks, and retreats. Looking back at 2020, this has certainly been an unusual year, full of challenges and setbacks. Even when the Onyx Path team was able to adapt and overcome, momentum was stalled by other factors - printing delays, shipping backlogs, and more.
Well, we're going to start 2021 off the best way possible: Our books will be shipping in January 2021. While our PDF and Print-on-Demand versions have been available for a while, I know many of you (like me) have been waiting for these deluxe versions to deliver to us and find their homes on our shelves.
I can confirm that our fulfillment partner has received the books - they exist! - and will start to ship in the new year!
To ensure we've got the most recent info for delivery, I'm going to confirm your shipping information one last time! If you're expecting a deluxe book, you'll get an e-mail from BackerKit today reviewing your address one last time. If it matches where you'll be in January, no further action is required. We're on it.

This is my 2020 warform
This year has obviously been full of unexpected challenges and difficult times. I know the Onyx Path team and writers were hit hard by the chaotic and shifting nature of the year, and plans and projects had to be shuffled around as situations and solutions were figured out. Projects that were expected to be completed or nearing completion were sometimes delayed, sometimes rescheduled, but never abandoned. I'm hoping 2021 is a much more manageable time, and looking forward to the results of the hard work of the Onyx Path team in keeping the machine running as best they could during this weird year.

ONYX PATH ON KICKSTARTER IN 2020
To say this year was challenging would be an understatement. Despite difficult, uncertainty, and demanding situations, the Onyx Path team continued to work on the great projects that have made us fans. It wasn't easy - schedules shifted, delays managed, and difficulties dealt with - but here we are at the end of 2020 and, despite the chaos, there are some victories to show!
Kickstarter continues to be an important part of the process for Onyx Path, and looking at the long list of projects in the works on the Monday Meeting Notes blog, it certainly looks like that’ll continue to be the case in 2021.
Rather than just take pre-order for an upcoming project, Kickstarter has allowed Onyx Path to gauge interest in game lines (to see if they should develop additional projects beyond those offered during the campaign), and sometimes even add additional projects to a game line immediately via Stretch Goal achievements. More importantly, it’s a chance to interact with the community and for everyone to get involved from the earliest stages.
Looking at 2020, Onyx Path had 7 Kickstarter campaigns funded, with one more currently on the go!
And, though the campaign still has a few hours to go, the recent DeadMan's Rust mega-adventure and setting supplement for ScarredLands 5th Edition has funded, which means it will get added to the list soon!

Hello Gratecrashers,
As we work our way through a busy week, I wanted to make sure I touch base and get your month end update in. There's no big news since last month, so I'll make it short and sweet.
And now to reveal my true form - a battle-turkey.
As noted last month, our Lunars deluxe book is currently printing. Right now, it's estimated to be completed in just over 3 weeks, and then shipped to our fulfillment partner. I'm guessing it'll deliver just as everything closes down for the holidays.
But, the staff at the warehouse are ready to turn the book around as fast as possible once they're up and running again in the new year.
So, one last time:

Greetings Gatecrashers,
These monthly updates are my attempt to keep everyone in the loop, on the same page, and up-to-date with the various moving pieces of this project. I love it when I get to share exciting news or send out a new reward...
But, it's less fun when I have to talk about delays and disappointments.
So - to ensure I'm letting you know all the information I have and keeping everyone up-to-date, here's the unfortunate news:
It looks like Lunars: Fangs at the Gate will not be shipping until January 2021.
Super disappointed James
2020 has thrown a lot of curveballs at everyone, and Onyx Path certainly dealt with adjustments and adapting to the everchanging reality of this world. I know it's affected everyone from freelancers who were furloughed from their regular jobs to printing and shipping partners who had to adjust their workforce and schedules to keep up with new safety standards and requirements. Bit by bit, things have shifted and slowed down, though I thought we had still managed to keep ahead of any real delays until this final stage of creation. But, I've just heard that Onyx Path's printer for this project won't have it completed until mid-December, which puts it just enough behind schedule to get tangled up in year-end holidays.
This is disappointing for a whole host of reasons, not the least of which is that I just *really* want to hold this book!
So, we'll be missing our projected December 2020 delivery date on this one. The good news - or at least the not terrible news - is that the project is being printed, will be completed and delivered, it will just be a great start to 2021 instead of a welcome finish to this year.

It's time for a reward! While the deluxe edition of the book is currently being printed and will be shipping out over the next few months (don't worry, I'll have an update with info when that process begins!), it's time for another of our rewards!
Imagine this, but in hardcover form.
The Print-on-Demand hardcover version of Lunars: Fangs at the Gate is available to order for Kickstarter backers who had this reward as part of their pledge tier! If this reward was part of your pledge rewards list, you are now able to order a Print-on-Demand version of the book at a discounted price (and before general release!) via a link in your BackerKit digital rewards page.

Again, because it can get confusing: THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS YOUR HARDCOVER KICKSTARTER REWARD - this is the Print-on-Demand version.
So, for those backers who pledged at the Silver Pact Mentor reward tier (or higher) and might be looking for a non-deluxe second copy for the table, there are two different versions of Print-On-Demand options available.
Standard Color Heavyweight uses a thick 70# white paper which has better page opacity. (that's "70 pound" for reference, but does not mean each page weighs 70 lbs!). Standard Heavyweight Color uses inkjet technology. (These are not the same inkjet printers you have at home - these are often as big or bigger than a car!) This option offers lower cost but the colors won't be as sharp or bright as a Premium Color book.
Premium Color Heavyweight uses the same 70# paper, but uses a digital offset press. This option offers superior color quality but is more expensive to produce.
(Remember to order via the coupon link in your BackerKit digital rewards locker, if you that was part of your rewards list! That link is your coupon and must be the first step in your PoD order.)
For those backers who had ordered the PDF only and were interested in getting the PoD version - it will be made available via DriveThruRPG tomorrow! Keep an eye out!
